Meet The Team

Our Manager, Rebecca Williams, leads our team of Project and Admin staff, with the support and guidance of our Board of Trustees.

Our team has a variety of backgrounds and expertise, from Youth Work, Business, Management, Financial Skills and Mentoring.

Rebecca Williams
Manager
Bex is AYA's Manager and leads the team, directing fundraising and overseeing project work. Bex holds a BA hons in Children’s Learning and Development and a MSc in Psychology. Bex has experience of working within Children’s Centres, schools and has recently worked with adopted children and young people affected by HIV.
Melissa Basile
Assistant Manager
Mel is AYA’s Assistant Manager. With extensive background in working with NEET Young People (young people not in education, employment or training), Mel heads up our Boost programme of Mentoring and Supported Volunteering for all young people who need that little bit extra support to help them get the most out of their volunteering for their personal and skills development.
Melinda Orton
Finance & Clerk to the Trustees
Melinda joined AYA in 2012 and looks after our Finances and the Admin associated with the Trustees. She has extensive experience in the business sector as a PA and Administrator, and brings a skill base of business policy, document management, marketing and organisational abilities to the team, together with an adaptable and friendly attitude.
Rafiq
Project Worker
Rafiq holds a BA in Practice Development in working with children and young people, and comes to AYA with experience of working with young people with disabilities and their carers. He takes the lead in developing our programme of supported volunteering projects for young people in Aylesbury and Wendover, and runs a number of weekly volunteering projects with young children and the elderly.
Rebecca Acres
Project Worker
Before joining AYA’s staff team, Rebecca accumulated years of volunteering in a variety of Youth Work roles and completed an apprenticeship with Buckinghamshrie County Council. Alongside her work at AYA, she has studied for and gained a JNC Qualification in Youth and Community Work. With two years experience of running youth-led community projects, Becca runs our development work across the rural areas in the Vale.
