Intergenerational Activities at St Leonards
*** Covid19 Note: Whilst activities on location at St Leonards has been placed on hold for now, you can still support the residents through our Digital Volunteering project. Which offers alternative remote activities that you can do at home. For more information checkout the Digital Volunteering page. ***
St Leonards is an intergenerational project part of the Generate programme where volunteers meet residents and offer companionship.
Volunteers organise and lead activities that offer friendship, challenge and bring joy to residents of St Leonards care home. We bring together children aged 5-11 from the After-School Club who are either fleeing domestic violence or have become homeless for a range of different reasons with the elderly residents. Building connections between the children and residents in the care home is important to us as it makes them feel cared for and happy as they take part in experiments, bingo games, Virtual Reality and many more fun activities. The refuge children enjoy visiting the care home as it is a great way to have fun, they build great connections and give the residents of the care home something to look forward to each week.
If you’re interested in Generate, getting involved couldn’t be more easy, just fill in the sign up form and we will get back to you with more information. Each sign up form will be dealt with strictly in the order in which they arrive.
