Working at Aylesbury Youth Action (AYA) in a youth-led volunteering charity, providing the lead on fundraising, which will cover funding and grant applications, Corporate Sponsorship and potential fundraising events. AYA provides opportunities for young people aged between 14-24 years to volunteer across Aylesbury Vale on a variety of different projects, including integenerational, conservation, YouTube and supporting children and other disadvantaged people across the community.

Job role will include: 
  • Achieving the targets set for income as outlined in AYA’s Business Plan and financial budgets
  • To ensure projects are monitored and evaluated to provide the appropriate information for funders feedback and reporting
  • To identify and apply to relevant funding organisations both locally and nationally, enabling AYA to meet objectives and continue its project activities.
  • Duties and Responsibilities
  • Obtain funding income to meet agreed targets outlined in the AYA Business Plan and financial budgets.
  • Research and undertake fundraising to meet AYA and project objectives from funding and grant organisations, Corporate Sponsorship, Events, Legacy Giving, Donations and Partnership Working.
  • Develop and manage effective relationships with appropriate funding organisations and individuals.
  • Understand and communicate AYA’s aims, objectives and community and individual benefits to effectively inform funding organisations via written, verbal, electronic and social networking means.
  • Effectively monitor, report and evaluate all aspects of fundraising work and ensure the required feedback and reporting is undertaken in a timely manner to funders.
  • Identify and plan for fundraising events ensuring high quality events are successfully delivered.
  • Ensure AYA staff, volunteers, Trustees and partners are managed to support the delivery.
  • Support fundraising events and meetings when required.
  • Prepare and deliver, within the given time-scales, all monitoring and evaluation reports to the Manager
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of effective computer-based systems for recording funder and sponsor details and monitoring information.
  • Record all data and analyse results in correct manner.

    Volunteer Assistant

    To assist in supervising and supporting young people in the delivery of AYA’s Youth-Led Projects, fulfilling the aims and objectives of the charity.

    Duties and Responsibilities
  • To assist the Project Worker in the planning and delivery of the designated project(s).
  • To encourage young people to become involved in the development, planning and evaluation the project.
  • To assist with the training of young people as volunteers.
  • To support volunteers in their volunteering and their personal development.
  • To participate in the monitoring and evaluation of the project, including writing reports and keeping records of attendance and activities.
  • To help ensure the safety and security of volunteers, the office and equipment and any other building used in the course of the project.
  • To undertake any other duties as required by the Project Worker or AYA Manager appropriate to the post and your skills and abilities.
