Youth Volunteering in Aylesbury

What is v?

 

v is the national youth volunteering charity which in 2007 launched a national programme (vinvolved) aiming to inspire young people, aged 16-25, to get positively involved in their communities.  Led by the interest cares and passions of young people they aim to increase the quantity, quality and diversity of volunteering opportunities available to young volunteers.

 

The network of 107 vinvolved teams all over England have been established to provide local advice and support on youth volunteering for every young person in England, no matter where they live.  The Bucks vinvolved team is a consortium of Action 4 Youth, Aylesbury Youth Action and Wycombe Youth Action.

 

Aims of Bucks vinvolved

 

Creating new volunteering opportunities

· Working with community and voluntary organisations to create more high-quality, diverse volunteering opportunities for young people in their local area

· Supporting local organisations who work with young volunteers, by offering training, building local networks and sharing good practice

 

Brokering 16-25 year olds into volunteering opportunities

· Find the right opportunities for new and existing volunteers

· Helping young people to set up their own voluntary projects

 

Championing youth-led action

· Supporting local Youth Action Teams (YAT) made up of young volunteers who help to advise vinvolved teams and get involved with work they do

· Join the Youth Action Team, get your voice heard and help improve volunteering in Bucks

· Already volunteering?  Why not register for the vAwards and get recognition for your contribution
